Our Guiding Principle

"Something must be done to reduce the economic insecurity in the African-American community and specifically in African-American single parent households. Many of these families are economically and politically insecure and generally miseducated about how to gain access to resources that can enhance their lives (Source: IWWWE Organizing Document).

What is the IWWWE Mentoring Program?

Every  participant in the Just in Time Program is assigned an online life skills coach.  The concept of a mentor or coach is not new.  Mentors  are caring individuals who, provide support, council, friendship, reinforcement and a constructive example.
Traditional mentoring relationships are between young people and caring adults.  Mentoring may be:

  • one-on-one mentoring
Ex. One adult and one young person
  • Group mentoring
Ex. One adult with up to four young people
  • Team mentoring
Ex.  Several adults working with a group of young people
  • Peer mentoring
Ex.  Caring youth in teaching relationship with a younger person
  • E-mentoring.
    Ex.  one-on-one online
  • Just in Time Online Coaching
Ex.  One-on-one online coaching connecting a career professional with an adult aspiring to be successful in the field (healthcare)
